Memorable characters and locations coupled with an engaging story line are the things that bring me back to an author’s work. Megan Mackie delivers all of these with the Lucky Devil series of books.
I’ve read the first three out of five novels. They are “The Finder of the Lucky Devil”, “The Saint of Liars” and “The Devil’s Day”.
The tales are told from various viewpoints which provide an interesting and sometimes contrasting take on the action. I was favorably reminded that the same technique was used in Bram Stoker’s classic, Dracula.
The only thing that kept me from giving these a five star rating were the numerous typos I found in all three books. Unfortunately, this has become quite common in modern publishing.
I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series and will give the first three books a solid four out of five stars!
